I have an appointment on Thursday which will make me 36 weeks pregnant with baby #2. At my last appointment 1 1/2 weeks ago the nurse told me (the doctor was out of town) that he starts checking at 38 weeks! My last pregnancy at 38 weeks I had given birth already! This pregnancy I am extremely uncomfortable, had preterm labor at 31 weeks which had to be stopped. In and out of the hospital at every 2 week appointment. They ask me how I'm feeling, I'm honest and tell them everything, so they send me to the hospital to be monitored! Anyway, the last few days I've gotten lots of pressure down low, a lot of braxton hicks & back pain & diarrhea again. This is what happened when I went into preterm labor at 31 weeks. It lasted a few days. I really want my doctor to check me and let me know if anything is even happening yet. But what are the chances he will do this??
Update:I didn't give birth premature. My daughter was born at 38 weeks exactly.
I went into preterm labor (which they stopped) at 31 weeks with THIS pregnancy. Which he knows, he's the one who sent me to the hospital.
My first pregnancy was a breeze. This one...not so much. lol.

it sounds like your due any day to go into labour, so you may not make it to your doctors appointment, i wouldnt worry your baby should be fine if born now, good luck.xx
Ask for one, it sounds like they know your history. Tell him how you have been feeling and insist on an exam to be sure. I'm surprised they haven'y been checking you since you already went into preterm labor. Good luck.
He should if you ask him. You may have to be a bit insistent about it but if you are at risk for pt labor, you probably should be checked anyways.
My doctor told me that they start checking at 37 weeks, but had I asked I know she would have done it sooner if I had concerns. I think if you express your concerns to your doctor, then they will probably check you.
have you explained all this to your doctor-that youve already given birth prematuraly, your having all the same symptoms from the last pregnancy??
