Both are challenging and rewarding careers. Typically you can expect a little more money for any job with the prefix "cardio." One big bonus to radiology though is the freedom to move around in your field. There is x-ray, CT, ultrasound, mammography and all sorts of interesting technologies in the radiology department.
But why don't you become a radiology specialist, i.e Doctor who reads films and ultrasounds? Anyways, if that is not an option, go for x-ray technician (technologist is a better term just because technician is only someone who operates equipment and doesn't know anything beside that. An x-ray TECHNOLOGIST actually has to know how to read the films s/he takes). Once you have your diploma, you may go higher and do MRI. These people get paid a lot. Depending where you live, radiology (meaning x-ray) may take full 4 years in university, and if you choose MRI, you will have to go to school longer. Ultrasound technologist is the same, I don't think you can take up another level in ultrasound though. I hope that helps.
