When a team wins their division, they make the playoffs. Denver wins a very poor AFC West this season behind a breakout year for Jay Cutler who takes league MVP honors.
I am not a Broncos fan (I am a Vikings fan) but have to admire them right now. At this point it is hard to gauge what the rest of the season holds for Denver but I would speculate that they have a very good chance of being a strong playoff contender. I really think that Shanahan is pretty sharp and he has an ever evolving plan for the Broncos and they are usually good at using their strengths. This is a different Bronco team then we have seen in a while - meaning different approach. A few years ago who would have thought that Denver would be passing like they are. You have to give them credit for the Charger game. All people talk about is how the referee cost San Diego the game but lets all forget that and focus on what Cutler and Marshall were able to do. I think we can say with absolute certainty that Shanahan will get that running game finely tuned by playoff time and once he does they will be scary. I think at this point anyone looking at their schedule is not looking forward to playing the Broncos....can you say AFC West Champions?
Actually the Broncos lost to the Chargers at home on Sunday. Everybody who is intellectually honest knows this. I'm from Denver and will admit that the Chargers technically beat the Broncos. Even the official who made that ridiculous call that allowed Denver to score the winning TD said that his blown call cost the Chargers a win. The Chargers and Broncos should be tied right now at 1-1. I think the Chargers will ultimately come out on top. The AFC is a tough conference right now to make it as a Wild Card at this point.
I don't see why some are so high on the Broncos. At this point they have one of the worst defenses in the NFL. They gave up 450 yards on Sunday. Sure they destroyed the Raiders but Shanahan always beats the Raiders. The Raiders just aren't very good. The Broncos technically lost at home to the Chargers. The Chargers are a better team. This is coming from somebody who lives in Denver. The Broncos should have lost to the Chargers on Sunday. There is no way you can argue to the contrary. Jay Cutler fumbled that ball and the Chargers recovered it. It was a blown call. They should be 1-1. Their defense has holes so large you could drive a 16-wheeler through them. Jamarcus Russell threw for 180 yards and 2 TDs against Denver. He only threw for 55 yards against the Chiefs. The Broncos aren't that good.
Yea, theyll make it tough for the Chargers to win their division. I think they'll definitly be in as a wild card, given the weakneses in the other divisdions too.
No way they suck they cheated to beat my chargers i bet they payed money to the ref that didnt call the fumble on cutler and that was a effin fumble....chargers will win the AFC West again =P
