No they don't. The stry of vampirs was thought up by Bram Stoker who was the author of The Book, Count Dracula. He got the idea of Vampiires from a species of bat, that is native to South America. They are caled vampire Bats because they live on the blood from animals, mainly cattle and sheep. They settle on the animal and draw about a quarter of a teaspon of blood. That is how you had the story of Vampires.
Each culture has some sort of vampire legend. It is hard to say whether or not they truly exist, though. You will find many people do live a vampiric lifestyle.
