I let my friend buy my vehicle from me, and he is paying me and payments and I have a contract with him, but I had to give him the title to get it in his name so that he could get the tag for it and I forgot to put myself as a lean-holder, but I have a contract with him. He hasn't paid me for almost three months and the contract states that if he does not pay me for three months straight, I get the vehicle back. Does the contract void the title? Help ?

you have to sue him in court/the contract has been violated but the car is in his name and you now have to sue to get your own car back/never sell a car unless you get the cash/
Nope, contract does NOT void a title. You should have kept your name on the title jointly or made yourself the lien holder.
Now, you DO have a contract, so although you cannot reposes the vehicle, you can take your friend to small claims court to recover the cost of the vehicle, or the judge may order the vehicle returned to you in lieu of payment.
No, a contract can not void a title. You screwed up by not adding yourself as the lien holder. Since your name isn't on the title, it's his vehicle and no longer belongs to you. You have no right to get the vehicle back.
Nope. In forgetting to add yourself as lien holder (legal owner) on the vehicle, you signed it over to him, and it's his car. If you attempt to take it back, he will call the police, show them the title in his name and they will ask you to leave.
Even if you take him to court, he can claim he paid you, in full, and point out you wouldn't have given him clear title if he had not.
Chalk it up to learning a lesson in the school of hard knocks. And you got the added benefit of knowing you shouldn't try to be a bank either. Cash, or no car for the next one you sell.
