I think surely yes, he scored fifty in every match he played against England. He scored century (134 runs) yesterday against Mumbai in Irani Cup.
I think he should be given preference over Tiwari and Yuvraj. Whats you say?

He is working hard & has improved his cricket a lot.He has struggled outside India before but next time there is no doubt he will prove why he is such a big player for India. He was under-rated all these time in test cricket, his recent performances have made his voice heard higher.
There is absolutely no doubt he will be playing against Australia. But question is where he will bat?he has been saying repeatedly that he doesn't like to bat lower down the order. He needs a promotion up the order, even opening with sehwag replacing gambhir isn't a bad idea. But regardless of wherever he bats I think he will be the most toughest wicket Aussies can take.
Raina is in stupendous form! No disputing the fact that there are crevices and voids in his technique but he makes up for all those limitations by batting inexorably with a lot of stealth! His temperament has improved tremendously and I must say, he is a fit contender for the number 6 slot ahead of Tiwary or Yuvraj!
IMO, Yuvi should be discarded as a test option for a while as he isn't in the groove to play tests at all! He is an asset in the shorter formats but that's about it! Tiwary has been consistent (not in losing his wicket to Abhishek Nayar! Lol!) in scoring runs and he IS a talented player! He should also be given a look in in place of somebody like Gambhir, who has been atrocious with the bat!
Neverthless, talking about preferences, it should be Raina leading the pack! Throw caution to the winds as the Aussies embark on a trip to India! Hoping for some good duels!
Cheers! :)
Yes i surely think he should be given the chance. Yuvraj hasn't proved himself good enough for the Test format. But Tiwari should be given a chance as well, no idea in whose place.
Yuvraj is good in place at 6 Raina may could be at 5 position
Yes
If home track bully Clarke can have a go at Australia. Then, Why not Raina? Isn't it mrjinx64?
Raina deserves a chance in the first two test match.
Yuvraj was never in good form when it comes to test,he hardly had any success. Why not try an in-form player?.Raina is a very good finishing batsman when it comes to ODI but his test temperament skills are yet to be tested. So giving him a chance is worthy.
He is in a tremendous form at the moment, at least in Indian pitches. So, he should be the automatic choice at No. 6 in the playing XI against Australia IMO.
O yes. He Is inbrilliant Form.
ideally he is not a test player, but none of the others has performed up to the mark, so he deserves the place.I hope he will perform well to prove himself in test cricket.
