I am 7 weeks pregnant and concerned that I might be having an ectopic pregnancy. I have mild stabbing pain on my right side that comes and goes with no bleeding. I contacted my Dr. (who wont see me till I'm 8 weeks) and they told me that it sounds normal but all my friends who have had babies have never experienced that (except my one friend who had an ectopic pregnancy). This is my 3rd pregnancy but first carry (the other two ended in abortions early during the first trimester). I have read that previous abortions can increase the chances of having an ectopic pregnancy, though they say it is later term abortions that cause it. My boyfriend thinks I'm overreacting but I'm still scared. I don't have health insurance and a trip to the ER would be very expensive. Should I go to the ER or wait another 10 days for my first appointment. I'm scared and unsure of what to do. Any advice?

Call your clinic back and ask for an appointment to evaluate your pain. They shouldn't be telling you over the phone that it sounds normal without seeing you in the clinic.
But honestly, it does sound like it's probably normal. Ectopic pain is more than just mild, and it's more constant with flare-ups where it's worse. By 8 weeks it would be bad enough that you would be running to the ER because your tube would be near the point of rupture.
But call your clinic back and get an appointment.
i had that with my 2 second miscarriage NOT saying you are going to miscarry!!!!!!! my miscarriage was due to my immune system killing the embryo as i have high natural killer cells..... i rang the doctors and they said go to the A&E (emergency room) and to be honest they didnt do anything but book me in for a scan for a few days later. they took my hcg (which is a good indication of a miscarriage too) Anyway, it wasnt eptopic and i wasnt miscarrying at the time so try not to stress too much. i would definately ask for an hcg test and an earlier scan i dont think that they should make you wait if you are in pain!!!! goodluck x
ectopic being pregnant is amazingly painful. I doubt which you're experiencing that. once you circulate on monday, they could have the flexibility to work out if the fertilized egg is implanted contained in the uterus of the fallopian tubes. do no longer stress your self too plenty. Monday is in simple terms few days away.
That sounds very normal to me. Ectopic pregnancy us extremely painful. I have/had lots of pain on one side, sometimes both sides. I had it during all three of my pregnancies.
