I'm 19. When I was in school, I found that talking to guys who were popular was just too much of a chore. The more popular they were, the less they seemed to care about what you actually had to say. It was horrible. They'd be rude too, because their friends thought it was funny. I loved talking to guys who weren't popular because they would actually listen to what you had to say. We could sit and have an intelligent conversation without them being like "oh look at my muscles. I'm so hot." I'd talk to anyone who wanted to talk, but it seemed like the popular guys were dumber than a box of rocks.

Some girls will only talk to and flirt with the popular guys (these are the mean popular girls who you dont want to have anything to do with), but most who are worth your time don't care if you are popular or not. Personality is really the the main thing that counts, so just be yourself, and the right person will turn up eventually:)

It just depends on the girl. At that age, girls still haven't quite gotten comfortable enough to make the first move. They're still developing that flirty nature and still trying to figure out how to talk to guys normally - more than just flirty like, because any girl can do that! - so it could definitely be that.

Also, the problem is that girls misinterpret shy guys, especially if they're in particular groups/cliques during high school. When I was in high school, I started talking to a guy that was super, super shy, but I always thought he was mean because he never talked or smiled and kept to himself. Unfortunately, that happens even later when guys/girls don't talk. They get misrepresented as being mean or too stand-offish. Shy often comes with negative connotations, especially in a high school environment.

The best thing to do? Get some girl friends, not just guy friends, because then you'll get a better idea of how to talk to them, girls will see how you talk to them, and it'll encourage them to talk to you. For someone shy, that could be asking a big deal, but having a wingman always helps and I'm sure your friends wouldn't mind helping you flirt with a cute girl at the mall or at school ;)

girls like popular guys. cuz those girls make him popular. an average looking guy can be popular. u dont need to be brad pitt to be popular. lol. Don't expect someone to come after u. when u expect, and when it doesnt happen, u will get sad.. stop expecting and stop thinking bout girls, and u will soon know that there are girls after u. Start thinking that ure unique and better than all the guys out there. build confidence, confidence doesnt only work in girls, but also in guys. Guys with high self confidence are sexy .. ;) Your 16 and still young, u will have lots more to explore in life. Just wait and they will come to u , and at that time u wont know who to choose lol .. good luck!

Popularity isn't a deal breaker. I don't know why girls don't talk to you. Maybe you aren't assertive enough? Like starting the conversations? I would just try to talk to girls! (tall boys are best)

I don't give a care how popular a guy is. He can be the most unpopular guy at school for all I care! As long as I like you, who the hell cares!
