My dog is 10 years old, and at night he will suddenly wake up out of a dead sleep, jump on the floor and start barking at the ceiling fan for not reason. in a minute , he w stop and go back to sleep. Also, while walking him in the morning(I walk him every morn for about 1 hour) he will suddenly stop and stare off into space as if he is thinking about where he is (it is the same route for the past 10 years around the park). Do dogs get alzhemeirs like people. everything else is fine.

When he jumps up and starts barking out of a sound sleep he is probably having a dream or there is a sound from the ceiling fan that annoys him. Try to sleep with out the fan and see if he sleeps better. As far as walking and staring off into space he may just be lost in thought. Dogs are very intelligent creatures and they think just like we do. Maybe he wants a change in the walk, try going a different route even if you enter the park where you usually exit.
They can but it sounds like old age is just catching up with your buddy. Some dogs, as they get older, get a little more active in their dreaming (my 13 yr old heeler barks in her sleep and will jump up out of dead sleep to "ward" off an intruder in her sleep and then lay back down and be fast asleep) If he's staring off into space chances are he's just giving himself a moment to get ready for his am workout (old age is no fun especially when you have to exert any energy) but keep up his walks they keep him healthy, if his eyes look cloudy inside his pupil (the black center) he could be starting to lose some of his eyesight, if you notice you have to talk a lot louder to get his attention when hes not looking at you he could be losing some of his hearing if you worried talk to your vet but unfortunately it's a perfectly normal part of owning an aging pet. As for the dreams i wouldn't worry unless he starts getting aggressive and walking around in his sleep (then i would go see my vet if i were you).
I have never heard of anything like alzhiemers in dogs, but it almost sounds like your dog may be losing his hearing. You can take him to the vet for an exam, but if he seems normal otherwise - I rescue senior dogs that no one else wants, and some act in somewhat the same manner. They suddenly DO hear something and stop in their tracks, trying to zero in on the direction, but if he has fluid in his ears, lays on his side so the fluid moves to the bottom side of his head, he would be able to hear the ceiling fan from the now clear ear - if he is going deaf, don't worry. You just have to get in his face more :).
