It all depends. 15 is a good age, but it will be best to focus on other things in life. Don't let boys or girls occupy too much of your time. Before parents approve of dating they like to see that you are stable in other areas such as school, chores, and family events. Remember that you dating is the last thing on their mind. Make sure that you are making them happy and once you see that everything is cool, ask them. By then they will have nothing negative to say to you since you will have done everything right up to that point.
I think 15 is a good age to start, but I'd wait until you have someone you want to date. I'd tell your parents that you like a guy and want to go out on a date with him. You might suggest group dating to start....that usually eases parents into dating and helps you feel comfortable with your crush. Good luck!
I wasn't allowed to go on dates until I was 16 and looking back, I think 16 is a good age to start dating because you're not allowed to operate a car until you're 16.... and it's similar if you think about it. When you start dating, you'll be making choices about how to operate your body - if/when to kiss, if/when to have sex, if/when to do all the other things that come between kissing and sex, and these are choices that will have long-lasting consequences.
So I say, 16 is the magic number, that's why they call it your 'Sweet 16' birthday. And if there is someone you're sweet on in the meantime, you can still get to know them in other ways... talk on the phone, email, go to each others houses - as long as there's a responsible adult also there so you're not alone. You can also go out in groups with friends together to football games, with youth group, etc. No need to rush, because you have your whole life to date.
So bring the guy over to your house, therefore he's already there, and they have no way to say no, cuz that would be rude and dumb.
Honestly, my opinion, 15 is too young. Cuz when your 15, you have relationships that last 2 weeks and there over. Young puppy love. I beelive that trur deep love, the love where 2 people dont break up when they have petty fights is when your older and more mature. It's when you have the ability to know what you want. There is more meaning to date when your 18 and up. Thats just me. and what worked best for me, and now Im in a happy loving relationship.
do you have someone in mind that you would like to start dating? you should wait until you do have someone before you ask your parents. and 15 is a good age to start, i started when i was 13 (but a freshman already) and i'm ok because i've been going out with the same guy that asked me out than. good luck!
i have been battling my mom for the last year ( i am 13 and i kinda have a boyfriend who is 14 and she knows it and she keeps telling me i can't go out on dates, yet she will turn around and call him my man) i think about 14 is a good age to start dating if u have a parent to drive u to the appointeded place and a adult to pick u up. but she does not agree -.-
Well tell them that their is a boy you like and you want to go see a movie. If you say you wanna start dating in general they prolly wont be a accepting as they would if you as if you can hang out with Johnny or w/e. Highschool is a decent time to start. They might not like it much, but might help if they meet the kid or know something good about him. Maybe know his peeps?
OF COURSE!!!! just tell them that you are mature enough and you know the difference between a 'good' boyfriend and 'bad'. And also tell them that because of them and what they have taught you that you know the difference. Also state your friends that have been dating for awhile. Oh and when you are talking to them keep your head up high, talk in a clear voice and look in them straight in the eye. good luck!
