You need to talk to people that own horses and read about the care of a horse. Horses are not all the same either. There are different breeds, colors, temperments, sizes, etc. You will need a place to keep your horse and it will need to be fed, watered and hay or grass everyday. There are other things about horses such as Stallions can be really hard to handle and mean if they are not handled by someone that knows what to do with them. Mares are sometimes contrary when they run their heat cycles. I am not trying to tell you that you dont need a horse, I just want you to know what you are dealing with before you get one. Horses need to be wormed periodically. You will probably have vet bills occassionally. You will also have to be out the expense of a farrier, as your horse will need its feet trimmed or shod. Now on the good side, a horse can be your best friend. You will need a lot of patience with your horse because they will give back about as good as you give. If you will get on the internet and read about caring for a horse, the different breeds and such, you will learn alot and maybe you can write your report. Good luck with getting a horse.
First off, please do not buy a horse first hand. Go work at a stable and take care of their horses. Then lease a horse for a few months so you can get the idea of owning a horse. Owning horses are no walk in the park ok? You needs to know care, basic first aid, when not to and when to call the vet, and other such things before buying ok?
1. research: Barns, pricing for barns lessons, prices ETC. ( if you are thinking on keeping the horse at your house. Research building barns and feed prices.
2. find a horse you want!
3. Figure out all the stuff you are going to need for it. Blankets pads saddle bridle bits all that good stuff.

Here are some things you can write about:
- How much a horse will cost to board / keep at home (If you do board, call up some local barns to get exact prices)
- Research things to look out for eg. drug dealers ect.
- What you know and can do
- Find an example of a horse that would be right for you
- What you will need (I will list some examples)
Examples:
- Halter
- Lead Rope
- Grooming Kit (Brushes, Hoof Pick, Sweat Scraper, Hoof Oil ect)
- Bridle
- Bit
- Saddle
- Saddle cloth
- Stirrups
- Stirrup Leathers
- Salt Lick (not necessary, but its a good idea to have one)
If you need more info, or need helping looking, post a question with your criteria and ill help you
good luck
