He's scheduled for his 2 last vaccines today that he turned 3 months. But i'm scared. Sometimes he plays sometimes he gets really quiet and just lays down. He won't eat his doggie food but If I'm eating rice and beans and chicken he'd eat it in a heart beat. I don't want to accustom him to eat "human food" but he hasn't been eating his reg dog food Latety and i rather him eat. Ever since i took out the wet food out of his mixed wet and dry food i use to mix for him when we brought him home last month he has shown a disinterest in food. I dont know wether to change it or just try to feed it to him. or go back to expensive wet food. He hardly drinks water either and his pee is sort of darker than lemonade. a really strong but not too dark yellow. I just want to make sure hes okay and that he's not dying. I really became close to him. I'd cry just thinking he'd be gone. His name is Blanket by the way. He's a Collie Smooth/ Shepherd mix.

Parvovirus is characterized by severe, bloody diarrhea and vomiting, high fever and lethargy. The diarrhea is particularly foul smelling and is sometimes yellow in color. Parvo can also attack a dog's heart causing congestive heart failure. This complication can occur months or years after an apparent recovery from the intestinal form of the disease. Puppies who survive parvo infection usually remain somewhat un-healthy and weak for life.
parvo is a virus that likes to attack and kill the cells in the intestinal lining. This will cause animal to frequently have diarrhea. It has also been known in rare cases to attack the heart. This is almost always fatal, but most cases of this dog disease are in the digestive track. Parvo is a really small virus you can only see the disease through a microscope. The Latin term for small is 'Parvo'.
Signs and Symptoms:
Look for different signs, if your puppy has diarrhea it does not mean that they have Parvo. There can be other surrounding them. If they have Parvo they will probably have at least 2 to 3 of these symptoms. Your Veterinarian is the only one who can tell by lab work.

My male did this same thing. He didn't have Parvo but he did have a stomach PH imbalance. Two forms of CPV have been identified: diarrhea syndrome and cardiac syndrome.
Diarrhea syndrome, or enteritis, has an incubation period of five to fourteen days. Dogs with enteritis act like they are in extreme pain. Early symptoms are depression, loss of appetite, vomiting, high fever, and severe diarrhea. Feces can be either grayish or fluid and bloody. Rapid dehydration is a danger, and dogs may continue to vomit and have diarrhea until they die, usually three days after onset of symptoms. Others may recover without complications and have no long-term problems. Puppies can die suddenly of shock as early as two days into the illness.
The second form of CPV is cardiac syndrome, or myocarditis, which can affect puppies under three months old. There is no diarrhea because the virus multiplies rapidly in muscle cells of the immature heart. Puppies may stop suckling and then collapse and die within minutes or days. No effective treatment is available for cardiac syndrome, and surviving puppies may have permanently damaged hearts.
Dogs get very dehydrated with Parvo. Try to keep up on the fluids.
Treatment for CPV should be started immediately. Hospitalization is necessary, except in relatively mild cases. Dogs must be kept warm. Dehydration is treated by replacing electrolytes and fluids and controlling vomiting and diarrhea. Antibiotics are used to prevent secondary infections. No drug is yet available that will kill the virus.
I had the vets give my male fluids (which are scary because they walk around with a giant lump of fluid for a day or two) and then I had to spray a mixture of bleach water anywhere he had pooped or threw up so he didn't get the sickness again.
Take your dog to the vet. Tell the vet the symptoms as soon as you can!
I've had two dogs with parvo on separate occasions we caught both just in time. However, I don't think Blanket has parvo. My dogs didn't play at all, they didn't drink, they barely even moved. They felt limp and you can tell just by looking at them that they were sick.
He would also vomit white foam. I would imagine he just isn't fond of his dog food and would rather be spoiled. But just to be on the safe side when you take him to get his vaccines ask the vet his/her opinion as well and even have them do a test.
Don't feed your dog your food. Don't allow him to beg at the table.
His food is on the floor for 15 minutes. If he doesn't eat it, you pick it up and don't put it down until his next feeding time.
If he's hungry he'll eat. If he isn't, he won't.
Pick the very best food you can afford. Be sure it's for a puppy. They need more nutrition than adult dogs. Organic is the best.
Don't feed him wet canned food. I'm not sure if it's a complete nutrition for a puppy.
i would take him to the vet...i've had 2 dogs that have had Parvo 1 survived because we took him to the vet before it really got bad. I would becarefull and do keep him separated from other dogs. If you changed his food diet he may not like it. Some animals don't he willl eat when he gets hungry. i hope that helped a little. Sorry it wasn't much.
A vet can do a SNAP test---take in a fecal sample in a plastic baggie to save on the office visit.
Otherwise, just watch your dog. Some signs are- lethargic, bloody stool, throwing up...
Make sure he isn't dehydrated. If you pick the skin up on the back of his neck, does it stay up or fall right back down? If it stays up he needs more water. You can use a syringe and squirt some down his throat but you may need to go to a vet.
Watch his gums, make sure they aren't pale, they need to be a healthy pink.
There could be a lot of things causing that kind of behavior, the lack of vomiting and diarrhea makes it less likely it's Parvo. Be glad you're taking him in for shots today, you can ask for advice from the vet while you're there and get him tested if you are really concerned.
You would know if it was Parvo. It's awful. They stop eating. Vomit a lot and have extreme diarrhea. Its terrible to see a dog with this. I lost a puppy to it a while back. If you are really concerned about him being sick take him to your veterinarian and have him checked out.
i would bring him to the vet for a regular physical and see what he says as for getting him to eat it might be the fact you took out the most food alough i don't recommend giving most food on a regular bases as it is bad for the teeth and gums you can order dog food grave at walmart target petco etc.. and mix that in with his hard food also dont feed human food it like junk food for us i know it hard as dogs become like family to us and they look said but trust me any vet will till you human food for dogs is bad as for water does the water bowl emptiy through out the day or does it not look like he is drinking?
