30% of 17 is simply:
17 * 0.30 which equals 5.1
So 5.1 is 30% of 17.
3% of 17 is simply:
17 * 0.03 which equals 0.51
So 0.51 is 3% of 17.
Divide the percentage by 100 to get a decimal. So in this case dividing 30 by 100 yield .3
Just multiply 17 times .3 to get the answer of 5.1
You can guestimate to check that the answer makes sense. 30 percent is a little less one-third. One third of 17 is err...a little bit more than 5. So our answer seems accurate.
30 percent of 17
30 % becomes .3 because the decimal gets moved 2 to the left
then 17 x .3= 5.1
"30% of 17" is just 0.30 times 17. Convert the percentage to a decimal, then multipy it by the number to find the percentage "of" that number.
Percent is always that number divided by 100
so 30 percent is 30/100 which is .30
30 percent of 17 is: .30 x 17
30% of 17 = .3(17) = 5.1
30% means .3 so multiply a number by 30% of 7 is 7x.3= 2.1
