How do you do percents /?
Yes I know this may be a 5 th grade level o whatever level but the point its I am going back to get my GED and Percents are not my thing and need sum help can anyone explain how to do these problems it would really help out alot thanks

look at percents as a number where 100% = 1.00; 50% = 0.50; etc.
what times 14 = 28? --> 2.00, so 200%
and really? half of 100? 50
40% of ____ is 100 so .4x = 100 -->250
The term percent is a short hand way of saying 100ths. So 1 percent of something is just 1/100 of it.
So x % of 14 = 28
x/100 times 14 = 28
x/100 = 2
x = 200
So 28 is 200% of 14 (or twice as much)
1/2 of 100 = 50 (or 50% of 100)
40% of x = 100
(40/100)x = 100
40x = 10,000
x = 250
So 40% of 250 = 100

Percents:
X% is 28
100% is 14
X% : 100% = 28 : 14
14*X% = 28*100%
X%=(28*100%)/14
X%=2800%/14
X%=200%
100% is X
40% is 100
100% : X = 40% : 100
X*40% = 100%*100
X=(100%*100)/40%
X=10000%/40%
X=250
The way you do this is you set up a proportion: A : B = C : D ( A to B = C to D) , meaning A*D = B*C ( multiplied outer ones ( A and D)are equal to multiplied inner ones ( B and C ) )
1) 200%
2) 50 %
3) 250
