Your Chihuahua should go to the vet and bring a stool (poop) sample for them to do a fecal exam on.That is the only way to know for sure if it has parasites.Unless you are seeing them in the poop already. A hard round belly is also a good indication of worms. Do not use store bought products to remove Worms. Let the vet give you something. Your dog may need vaccines now too. Spay or neuter at 6 months old.
Take it to the vet they stick a thing in its but to get some poop. they do a fecal test on the poop and that will let them know if there are parasites. It wont hurt the dog in anyway. If there are worms it will get medicine to deworm it. It will then poop out the worms. And be ok.
