My doctor put me on 10mg Provera to help start my period after being on the depo. I got off of the depo in april. I've taken 6 pills so far and will take the 7th tonight and haven't started yet. I'm just wondering when I'm supposed to start. He said if I didn't start then that would mean I'm pregnant. I've had unprotected sex with my boyfriend since April.

You probably won't get a bleed until after you finish the provera.
Provera works by causing your endometrium to build up. (It's a form of progesterone). When you stop taking it, the sudden withdrawal of hormones causes the new lining to be shed. (It's the same reason you bleed at the end of a pack of birth control pills and, or the matter, the same reason you have a 'normal' period. (The corpus luteum dies back, stops kicking out progesterone, and you shed the endometrium.)
I'm also a bit puzzled as to why the doc didn't do a pregnancy test BEFORE giving you the provera. It's really not recommended to use it during pregnancy, and it's not a particularly efficient form of pregnancy testing.
If your doctor even thought you were pregnant, why did he put you on provera, he should have ordered up a pregnancy test for you first to rule out if you were pregnant or not, and if you were not, then sure, have him put you on provera, I would call your doctor, now and tell him your period has not started and your are worried that if you are pregnant, what effects provera will have on you and baby.
