Hi, I'm going to be entering my sophomore year of high school. I was talking to a teacher I'm close to and he's going to be starting a program in which students submit ideas for ways they can change the world, and if they are doable, he will help them get it done. So, I'm interested in doing something for orphans or sick children in hospitals because I just love working with/helping them.
An idea hit me suddenly, where I could make an app for Apple or Android devices in which children could submit wishes, and I could help them be fulfilled (the purpose could be different, since i know it sounds like the Make-a-Wish foundation). Or I could somehow create a project in which students go into the hospital and help in any way possible (as a group, or individually). Or, I noticed that many hospitals do not have too many toys/books for the kids, and I could fundraise and help donate books/toys to hospitals so that children have something to play with.
I don't really know what type of project I want to start, but I know that I really want to start something because I want to make a difference. Do you guys have any suggestions on my ideas, or have any ideas to help me?
Please let me know. Thank you so much!

Hi!
I think you have some great ideas! What if you combined some of them? For instance, work with a local Children's Hospital to fulfill mini-wishes for kids. Such as buy the toy/book the patient wants most. You could create a website where their is a list of the patients, what toy/book they would like, and how much it costs. Then, people who visit your website could "Sponsor" the child's wish and donate the money for the toy/book.
The possibilities are endless :)
That is an fascinating notion. Are you aware something about quilting? I ask this seeing that you'll be ready to enlist the help of institution youngsters to make a quilt for his or her university or public sale it off for dollars going back to the school. The goal would be to make a quilt (regularly queen dimension). Decide on a class (most likely one that has 30 or pupils), you may also have to pick 2 classification depending on the size of the class. Every student is to decorate a block (a section of fabric, white cotton muslin for instance). The block is ready 6" x 6" or a little bit better. The pupil can paint on it, draw on it, or whatever. It's better in case you use markers which might be everlasting and is not going to wash off. Fabric pens work first-rate. Decide on a theme like "i admire school" or "i love studying" or anything like that. Have the kids draw snap shots on the blocks to symbolize the theme. A different concept is to have prints made from their palms and sign their names below the prints! As soon as the blocks are achieved, you could sew them together or have a buddy/mom or any one who knows quilting aid you. You're going to have a high-quality quilt prime if you end up achieved. The next step can be to have it quilted (all of the layers sewn collectively). The layers are the highest, the batting and the backing. Anybody who knows quilting can support or take it to a quilting specialist to put it together. This may fee money. That's why having any individual who knows quilting is high-quality. The completed product may also be put on display for a whilst. Then, at a fund raiser- promote raffle tickets. The funds can go back to the university or despatched to charity. This can be a excellent group task. It involves mum and dad, teachers and the community. It can be a fun project and many improvement from it.
