Is the Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000 headset compatible with an xbox 360 console?
I don't care about microphone usage but is there a way to plug in my headset to my xbox 360 and get audio? As of right now when I have it plugged in I do not get audio. I have googled and had trouble finding any information on this so any answers are appreciated. thanks guys!

No. Those headset require drivers to work and cannot install drivers on a 360. If you want a headset that has sound, I'd go with the Turtle Beach line. They work on the 360 and are really nice.

well from what the Microsoft site says is that you only have usb and that means you have no way to use it on the xbox for audio.
