It may take some getting used to if you rely on the number pad heavily normally. Even if you do use the number pad and are unable to adjust, there are USB number pads that you can plug in and set right next to your laptop as if it were just a normal number pad.
I personally didn't have much trouble adjusting, so this should not be of much concern to you.

theres still numbers on the top.... i dont find it annoying at all its just missing an EXTRA feature the desktop has

Totally a matter of personal choice. I am not bothered by not having a numberpad, but I would find one slightly more convenient.
I detest not having a numberpad. but then i work in finance ;)
Most (cheaper/smaller) laptops don't have number pads... As long as you don't work in finance you'll be fine.
