It's immediate area isn't that bad. It's across the street from AT&T, The Convention Center, PF Changs, and a construction sight.
The overall area isn't that great, though. Park close, and don't wander ~ It's actually in DOWNTOWN, not Midtown Sacramento. There can be a lot of riff raff walking around at night.

It's in midtown, near the Convention Center. It's fairly safe, as Governor Brown has a loft apartment across the street.
It's a popular venue for smaller concert events and is #1 for local high school graduations.

It's perfectly safe in the immediate area. Just stay away from the bus station and the mall. Stick to 16th Street if you are out late at night.
