I am 35 and a half weeks pregnant and last night I started getting menstrual like cramps. They werent very painful, but they were uncomfortable. They lasted until I fell asleep. When I woke up this morning, the cramps were gone. Is this normal at this point in pregnancy? If so, what is causing these cramps?

Cramping that late in pregnancy makes me think of labor. Especially with one's first pregnancy, you have no idea what to expect. I was having menstral-type cramps with our first (13 years ago this Christmas) on Christmas morning. Come to find out, after going to the ER, I was having contractions every 2 minutes. They stopped the labor (considering I wasn't due until Valentine's day). Might be prudent to call your doctor's office. Good luck!
Im about the same in my pregnancy and I get cramps like that to, my dr told me they are braxton hix contractions. That they will get worse as my pregnancy gets closer to coming to an end, but as usual with anything else if its really bothering you and you are concerned go to labor and delivery its better to be safe than worry about it and raise you blood pressure!! GOOD LUCK!!
braxton hicks - its very common! Im about the same stage as you, and ive been getting exactly the same things!!
I think its completely normal - at least thats what the doc told me - its to do with the baby falling down (dropping!) too ... this causes cramps ... ive been having them about 2 weeks now ... and there not getting any easier!!!
I guess its braxton hicks ... but im not looking forward to real labour! yikes!!! Good luck!!
You could be constipated- or you could have Braxton Hicks contractions- (false contractions) normal while the baby is getting into position for the birth process. You should still call your Dr office and let them check you out.
