I am trying to make coconut bonbons that calls for 3/4 c. of sweet condensed milk. You do not bake the recipe so the substitute with 2 eggs is out. And I cannot make the recipe with dry milk powder as I have none!
At my disposal I have - whole milk, skim milk, butter, powdered sugar, granulated sugar, brown sugar, half and half, light cream (they were out of heavy cream at the store!).
I have googled for about a half hour for something that would make sense and have given up. Please help as there is an impending snow storm, its 3am where I live (I work the night shift... not uncommon for late night baking sprees) and its 7 degrees out. I would rather make it than go back out. Thanks!

Take the ingredients you have at home and make something else. There is no substitute for Sweetened Condensed milk. Unfortunately, bon bon recipes usually call for Corn syrup or Sweetedned Condensed milk. A little late, but in the future, decide what you want to cook, bake etc. then check for the ingredients you need before you start the recipe or go to the store and buy what you need.

YES!! this makes a good sweetened condensed milk substitute! It makes quite a bit so have some canning jars to stash it in unless you are doing a major bake using it.
I'm afraid you will need to go to the market. Otherwise, your recipe will flop!
