I know I won't get very many replies to this Q, but here it is.
My 3 yr old doesn't eat very well....eats very little to be exact. She is skinny, pale, and always has this unhealthy look about it. She recently started complaining about her bottom itching and I noticed it was red. Some people mentioned maybe she has parasites causing the itching and causing her to not want to eat.
So I started giving her some black walnut extract....her bowels are better, she is eating her entire meal, and the itching is gone.
Coincidence? Have any of you ever had experience with this?

It works as a source of dietary fiber, so it makes perfect sense that it helped to work out her bowel issues. It very well could have been a parasite -- black walnut has been known to fix that, so again, perfect sense.
A lot of these natural things really *do* work...I don't know why everyone always assumes it must just be coincidental.
I've had a lot of success with natural / holistic / homeopathic remedies.
Not black walnut in particular , but with a score of holistic remedies.
What sold me was when my naturopath prescribed a homeopathic remedy for my 9 month old daughter who had a recurring rash on one side of her body.
He explained it to me, gave me the remedy, and it worked.
Debunks the notion that homeopathy has a placebo effect, because the patient was NINE MONTHS OLD. It's not like she , or I could say " Now, honey, some people think that this is all hooey, so make it work for Mama, mmmkay ?".
I have no experience with black walnut extract, but a few years ago my stepson had pinworms. He didn't appear sick or eat any differently (he was 8 or 9) but his bum itched. After a month or so of itching, his mom who is a nurse, finally took him in.
yeah i had the exact same nursery suggested she had worms i took her to the doctors and nothing the only other thing i can this is is she wiping herself properly i but bepanthen on my daughter and she's better in a day. as for the eating thing have you thought of vitamin supplements for kids? or you could take her to the docs if she looks so sickly she might need some help!
Black Walnut, wormwood, and clove extracts are thought to be anti parasitic remedies.Sounds like it could have potentially done good.
How many times has your 3 year old had a red itchy butt or bowel problems. How long did it last? A day or 2 at most? It probably would have gone away with a balloon ride too.
I don't think it's a coincidence.. Im glad your kid is better :)
