We are moving into a new house which is in our front yard (new construction built right in front of our old mobile home which we will be moving out once it sells). Anyways I called DishNetwork to have them move my equipment, and come to find out since I am not moving to address there is a $99.00 per hour for the first two hours and $59.00 for every other hour. So the thought hit me today. Could I say I am moving from my address to the same address with a letter added like from 123 Seseme Street to 123 B Seseme St? Would adding the B get me in some type of trouble?
Update:Not sure if I made it clear, if you move to a new address, moving your equipment is free

If you were planning to rent out your current home when you move into your new one, you would have TWO separate homes at the same street number, so it would be completely legit to designate them separately just like all rental property owners and managers do. Thus, you could actually add a separate mail box, and designate one as XXX-A and the other as XXX-B. You might check with the post office to find out how you need to do that, of course. I'm sure you're not the first to add a rental property at the same street number.
I like the suggestion above. Or an interruption in service may close one account and re-establish an account. The duplex idea is pretty good.
Or have your builders move the equipment but I don't know nothing about dishnetwork.
You could also try telling them that if they charge you that insane amount that you are going to bring your business somewhere else... just to see what they say. Sometimes it works. =) Good luck!
I would try it. Isn't it crazy how these companies will milk you for every penny they can get! UGH!
Congrats on your new home...how exiting! = )
