My boyfriends family has like a family day party on christmas & theres always tons of people. So this year, I thought it'd be a great idea to make a cake for it. I want to make a tiered cake that looks like a present. I want to use fondant on it. Does anyone know of any websites on how to make one? Or does anyone know how? I just want to know how to decorate it & stuff like that. Thanks!

Cool! My Mum made a Christmas present cake, 20 yrs ago tho. It was beautiful. It was white icing and had green icing Christmas trees all over it and a big red bow made out of rolled icing I think, on top. Everybody loved it. I've never made a tiered cake. That would be the hardest part the balancing, and you'd have to buy the stilts and boards. I wouldn't do it, the cake wont travel so well and will always be safer flatter and easier to store. You could compromise. Make one big one and one small one for on top, or three, just skip the stilts. Have great fun decorating your wrapping paper!
I am this way too, I went to the 99cent store and got inexpensive plastic containers for the cookies. You can use food bags too (the large kind with twist ties are perfect for cookies) I have a few homemade cookie recipies, I always make soft classic sugar cookies but the ones people rave about are my carrot cookies... Carrot Cookies with Orange Icing Carrot cookies are made with mashed carrots. INGREDIENTS: 1 cup shortening 3/4 cup sugar 1 egg 1 cup cooked, mashed carrots 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Orange Icing, below.. PREPARATION: Beat shortening; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg, carrots and vanilla, beating well after each addition. Sift together dry ingredients; stir into carrot mixture and mix well. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for about 20 minutes. Transfer cookies to racks to cool. Ice cookies with Orange Icing while still warm. Orange Icing Juice of 1/2 orange (3 to 4 tablespoons) 1 tablespoon butter 1 1/4 cup sifted confectioners' sugar Combine juice with butter; stir in sifted confectioners' sugar until desired spreading consistency is reached. Add more juice or confectioners' sugar as needed.
