@alexis, obviously, the reason why you are too stubborn to follow my advice, is because you don't believe in god and you DONT WANT TO. If you want to believe in god, you wouldn't have said this.
I am sorry to say this, but who are you to question whether god should have shown himself to us and proven himself. Who are you?--a protozoa.

Because Pagan celebrations are fun and the Pagans don't have a problem with sharing. They're cool like that.
Why *wouldn't* we?
Christmas is a secular holiday celebrating goodwill, generosity, and togetherness of family and friends. It's something that anyone of *any* religion (or lack thereof) can (and arguably should) celebrate. Why would atheists wish to specifically deprive ourselves?
Addendum: "Seriously though, I get that you would hate to be under control of a lord and you are rebellious"
We're "rebellious"? Where do you *get* this nonsense?
"but seriously open you mind for a bit and do your research about god."
This is like me telling you to "open your mind for a bit and do your research about Yoda".
There's nothing to research. Sure, you could research the various fictional *stories* about Yoda, but those will not provide you with any accurate information about the *real* Yoda. Because there isn't one.
"Being Athiest is awesome I assume, but that is very short term."
*Everything* is short-term.
"Those 80 years we spend on earth are nothing compared to infinity."
And they're everything compared to the 80 years we spend on Earth, which is all the time we get.
"Why spend 80 years enjoying yourself, when you could invest 80 years for an infinity of happiness."
The same reason I might save for a few years to spend $15,000 on a car, instead of waiting fifty years saving up $250,000 for a unicorn.
Because they aren't real. There are no unicorns, and there is no "infinity of happiness". It'd certainly be *nice* if there was an infinity of happiness (and unicorns, too). But there isn't.
"Try to find belief in god, without deluding yourself to believe."
Believing in something that isn't real *requires* deluding yourself. By *definition*.
Why do Christians celebrate Christmas when the Bible forbids the traditions as a Heathen practice?
Jeremiah 10:2-4:
2 Thus says the LORD, "Do not learn the way of the nations, And do not be terrified by the signs of the heavens Although the nations are terrified by them; 3 For the customs of the peoples are delusion; Because it is wood cut from the forest, The work of the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool. 4 "They decorate it with silver and with gold; They fasten it with nails and with hammers so that it will not totter.
For the same reason that Christians celebrate Yule -- I mean, Saturnalia -- I mean, Christmas. It's a winter holiday that celebrates togetherness and love and joy and sharing and hope for renewal. It's an opportunity to spend time with family and friends and exchange gifts, sing songs, and share a meal. In the middle of winter, couldn't we all use a little of that?
Because it's a chance to spend time with friends and family, and enjoy various fun pagan rituals like decorating trees, feasting, and giving gifts.
The winter solstice is a nice thing to celebrate, and the fact that christians pretend that it is the birth of their fairy, which everyone knows is not possible, should not deter us.
Why do Christians promote Santa Claus?
Why do christians celebrate it?
It is just one of those things to have fun and be with family/friends
We don't. We just take the free day off with pay and run.
Because I like food and presents.
