Why do companies do this?
I made 2 online payments Tuesday. One to my phone company, one to my satellite TV provider. Yesterday the money for both payments was deducted from my checking acct. My phone company received their payment this morning. The satellite payment 'can take up to 10 days' to post, plenty of time to suspend account-holders for non-payment. . Why the difference, and what can we do about it?

You must not have paid your satellite company on time before or did a chargeback as they don't seem to trust your payment.
