-They have little displacement
-VTEC is what makes them somewhat drivable(which I've yet to see kick in my friends civic, it has i-vtec or whatever so its extremely hard to make it come on.
-they're slow, my dads 2010 sedan cant even skip the wheels from a dead stop, cant even peel out from a dead stop as hard as you try.
-my friends 2012 coupe cant even skip the wheels from a dead stop
-they have a cheap interior build, especially the 2012s, i noticed its just horrible.
-i don't think the safety is great either, just a cheaply built car with a bunch of airbags.
-although they are somewhat reliable, a lot of them have problems, i think their claim to "reliability" has just kinda been a hype over the years, in reality they aren't so much.
-I think a lot of them are still on the road(mainly the older ones) because parts are just so cheap for them.
-I always see the older ones blowing head-gaskets, and a lot of the odyssey vans have transmission failures
-my dads 2010 shifts really hard when cold, why my other car (13 years older), you cant even feel it shift when cold if you tried your hardest.
So my question is, what do you think? Keep in-mind this doesn't include the Si, those have better and interiors, displacement, speed, & quality over the dx,lx, ex, and whatever else honda has for the civic.
I think its just a cheap budget car with nothing good about it.

Every car manufacturer is looking for a "dupe". These cheap cars are popular with dupes who don't know anything about cars and engineering and maintenance so they drive them until they blow up.
Some actually take care of their cars and this creates a false rumor or sense of "reliability" so people think they will buy into the same car and get the same deal. Haha! A fool and his money are soon parted.
All cars thrive on maintenance and die without it.
Good luck!
Well, it is true. Hondas are a cheap budget car. But they don't suck. They are actually very realible and efficient in gas. But I do agree that they suck in terms of power. Why spend thousands of dollars in making a Civic faster when you can spend that equal amount of money on getting a better sportier car?
Compare them to the cheapicity of american cars in they same class and they are gold. Note u got a bad attitude tward hondas aviously u got something agianst them and are not taking in the true facts about the cars, meaning they are cheap to buy, good on just about every catergory why do u think they sell so much? U probably dont know how to take car of a lawnmower better yet a honda, to advance for your simplicity .
they are cheap, good on gas and BECAUSE they are so popular, there are a lot of aftermarket parts for them so a lot of tuners buy them which just makes them more popular. I don't like Honda that much either but it's true that they are very reliable and good on gas
People buy them because their neighbors and friends buy them. It's the same reason everyone dresses the same. Because people don't think when they buy the car, they just want to follow the crowd. It's a name they buy, not a car. There are many way better cars for less money, if you look.
