When I was a kid I hated olives. Now, I love them on everything. My taste buds physically changed, I know, but why....what happened to me?! I haven't lost tastes for other foods, just gained a taste for olives.
Geez, now I really want some olives.

yes, this is an intriguing question. It appears that while our body changes and matures, our minds also change and mature along with it. AS adults we are no longer interested in childish things, and of course the reverse is also true to a slightlty lesser extent, give or take.
So we can introduce the concept of form and function here. A kangaroo could not operate with a mouse mind and brain and the reverse is true also. It would seem that life is a more abstract and ethereal puzzle then expected. How is this matching of mind with body accomplished ?
I think most children go through this process of taste change and even colour preferences, music preferences, play experiences, types of friends we like to be with, and so on.
