It's very important to have faith in what you pray for. Mark 11:24. We also have to be humble. Psalms 138:6. And we also have to realize that certain actions can cause God not to listen to our prayers. Isaiah 1:15. Matthew 6:7,8. We have to pray the correct way.
God can hear us - not because of anything that we have done, but because of what Christ has accomplished for us. However, that still does not mean that God will always answer prayer, the way that we want Him too. That does not mean that prayer has failed. My husband was diagnosed with cancer in Feb 2010. For almost a yr, I continued to pray for God to heal him. On Jan 28th 2011, the Lord answered that prayer- but not the way that I was hoping for at the time- He took him home. My husband for most of our 30 yrs of marriage was not healthy- and the best healing for him was going home to live with Jesus! I miss him horribly- and I sometimes wish that he was still here,but I know that God and prayer did not fail. God always answers prayer, it may be with a yes, a no or wait! God is not a genie that we control!
Because you don't fully immerse yourself in the power of the Dark Side.

It isn't magic, but it expresses what we want. You have to deal with what you don't get. Then you are supposed to have patience and see things from another persective if helpful.

Talking to yourself rarely accomplishes anything.
It doesn't, sometimes you just don't notice the response... <3
It does when the form is hollow. Most of the peoples are hollow in that sense, but not everyone.

I found the following in Summon's Christian Miscellany, anthologised by Parminder Summon. The poem was attributed to anon, and I wondered whether:
- the author twisted his or her logic in order to avoid having to deny faith, or
- he or she found an effective way of coping with the bad hand dealt to him or her in life, or
- he or she was comforting someone else, or
- he or she had genuine spiritual insight, or
- there was something else, whatever it was, going on here.
Anyway, here it is;
I asked God for strength, that I might achieve;
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked for health, that I might do great things;
I was given infirmity , that I might do better things.
I asked for riches, that I might be happy;
I was given poverty, that I might be wise.
I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men;
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need for God.
I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life;
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I had hoped for.
Almost despite myself my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am among all men, most richly blest.
Psalm 66:18
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.

Prayer doesn't fail: The people who pray always feel better afterwards. Were you expecting...more?
Because it lacks rhythm.
