I still have an extra 8 lbs hanging around :-( 'sigh'....anyway, do any of you know of any good post natal Pilate's DVDs?
Also, is there anything that you did that got your body back in shape afterward (besides walking and eating well. i've got those 2 down lol)?
As far as time goes I have a few hours in the morning and spots during the day while he sleeps, and dh helps out a LOT when he gets home. So I have time to work out a bit, but for now I would prefer to do it at home (as opposed to a gym).
Last question, is toning going to be more difficult? I want to be prepared and have realistic expectations as to how long it'll be before I see results. Pregnancy changes the body so much i'm not quite sure what to expect.
Thanks moms !! :-D
Update:Btw, I know that the body may not go back to it's original 'shape',...but I would like to get it to look as good as possible

I'm sorry but I refuse to help a mom who ONLY has 8 pounds hanging around 13 days later!
Hah! Try 18 pounds 13 months later!
I'd really give your body a bit more time before you start doing any real exercise. You're dropping the weight amazingly well though (most moms would be jealous), and by 6 weeks you'll probably have lost it all anyway. However, the toning will take work, and if you delivered vaginally then most likely no matter what you do you'll have somewhat of a different shape, but with exercise you'll be able to tone again.
Personally, I didn't work at it til my son was 6 months, and I got to 10 under my pre-pregnancy weight, but it still looked like I weighed much more than I had previously. I eventually got frustrated and gained a few back. Since it's winter, I'd rather enjoy myself and wear a sweatshirt... but come spring I plan to get my butt back in gear.
Again, I'd give it a few more weeks before you start really doing much exercise, but if you're dedicated to it, you'll be able to tone up again :-) Good luck!
Don't stress, it comes off faster than you might think. At least it did for me. I think that by two weeks post partum I still had about 15 pounds to lose, and by two months I was back down to my normal weight of 120. And actually, my body did go back to it's "original shape". I realize this is not true for everyone, but it's probably more common than we've been made to believe. The only thing is, now I just have a few stretch marks. Oh well.
It takes about a year for your body to get back to normal at least in my experience mind you i didnt have extra weight just toning issues(all the weight i gained was baby, placenta and water yay). Eating right and exercising help to speed this process up. Toning in the tummy may be more difficult just due the fact that the muscles were all stretched out just stick to it :D
Good Luck and congrats on your little one!
breastfeeding is a way to get rid of the weight you put on over pregnancy. in fact thats one of the reasons women put on weight over pregnancy - we are builiding up a store so we have enough to feed us and the baby.
Be careful. Don't do anything to rigorous. Have you okayed exercise with your doctor. They usually want you to wait 6 weeks. Do your kegels. lol.
