My step father,
He is 41,
He had a stroke, went to hospital, stayed their for 2 weeks then discharged, 4 days latr my uncle sends his back for a check up cuz he was acting weird, aftr a cat scan they determined that he had anothr stroke, the docs then decided they need to do surgery on his carotoid artery. His surgery was on a tuesday then the docs kept him on on meds to stay asleep for awhile to "heal" for the surgery.
That following saturday when the nurses went to check on his recovery like usually he wasnt responding, they noticed he fell into a coma. It has been 4 weeks sense he fell into a coma and he still hasnt woken.
He has reflexes and brain waves that air fine, and for the most part he breathes on his own.
I was wondering if anyone has gone to through this or something similar and what the outcome for their love one was?

I was in a coma for 3 weeks. I could partially respond and remember a lot of what was being said in the room. After I came out they put me in a medical induced coma for 3 days to help me breath on the ventilator. after the coma it took about 2 weeks of being in the hospital before I could leave. I don't know if I've help any but best wishes to you and your step father.
