Iv read twilight, vampire acadamy, the house of night, thirst and a thousand other vampire books that were great but I just can't handle any more of that lol I loved the mortal instrument and the hunger games but I want something more grown up. I'm reading pretty little liars and I love it! Something along those line:) I'm 14 so nothing to adult-like but I can handle big books, I'd rather have big books. Thanks<3

His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman - favourite series ever! Difficult to explain but a great read.
Chronicles of Ancient Darkness - Six thousand years ago in the spirit-ridden forests of Europe, Torak of the Wolf Clan must learn to survive more than just the elements.
If you are sick of the familiar tropes of vampire books try The Reformed Vampire Support Group and The Rehabilitation Centre for Abused Werewolves by Catherine Jinks. It's very different from any others on the recent supernatural bandwagon.
Scott Westerfeld is generally pretty good. Try the Uglies Trilogy (futuristic rage against the system), So Yesterday (how style really works) and his steampunk trilogy - Leviathan, Behemoth and Goliath.
A nice dark read for older teens (and trust me, these books are big) is Garth Nix's Abhorsen Trilogy. It starts with Sabriel, a brand new necromancer, and her battle with forces incomprehensibly bigger than herself.
I also like China Mieville as an author. He writes for adults so there's a fair bit of sexual references and swearing, but Kraken was really good and I recently finished The City and the City.
And Markus Zusak wrote The Book Thief and The Messenger, two absolutely awesome books of susbstantial length.
Dangerous Days: The Autobiography of a Photojournalist (420 pages), and its sequel, Blades: The Autobiography of a Rescue-Helicopter Pilot (380 pages), both by J. William Turner. Very realistic fiction about teens in several dramatic life and death situations set in Australia, Canada, England and California during the years 1981-1982 and 1995-2001. Each novel is written as a series of four related shorter books (about 100 pages per book) inside a single cover dealing with teenage, adult and social themes. More info in Google
I love the Private series by Kate Brian. They're like Pretty Little Liars, but i wouldn't call them big books. They're about 200 pages at most. But i think you should read those. Also, i loved Cirque Du Freak, but that's about vampires, so i'm not sure if you'd want to read them xD
The Lovely Bones By : Alice Sebold Genre : Mystery/ Romance
Ages : 13 & up Its about a girl who get Rapped and kills her. Her parents are looking for the
Killer for over a year .
Fallen by Lauren Kate then the next book after that is Torment
