i have a 550d for the past 2 years and im thinking of buying some pro lenes and camera after 10000k i have read about 3 books learned all the features on the 550d am i ready to go pro
Nobody who has to ask is ready. Knowing a 550D doesn't make you into a photographer.
Turning pro means having more than just photography. You need business sense and you need personal qualities that will get you enough work and keep you sticking at it.
It isn't an easy job and it isn't a well-paying job unless you get very good, and there's a lot of competition to cope with as well.
When you are earning enough from your photography to live on and you have a reasonable expectation of continuing that way for long enough into the future you might think about giving up the day job.
depends on how experienced you are and ur reason for upgrading. And by experience i mean hands on time and practice or paid jobs with ur 550d. Are you finding that the 550d is limiting your work? Also know that you can buy pro-lenses and use it on the 550d just note the frame size will be different beacause ur camera isnt full sized. And if your current camera isnt generating you any income then i say dont upgrade because it would just be a waste of the few thousand you would need to spend on it. Try getting some hands on experince and really getting to know the 550d before upgrading your camera.
Only 2 years with a dSLR and already wanting more? Most pros wait 'til their camera dies before getting a new one. That is unless they realize they can't live without a new feature that's not in their existing camera but in the new one. Many prefer to wait. It keeps the cost of operation down. Being a pro means you have to earn money so buying a camera every two years isn't good for the business.
I have some golf clubs. I know which end to hold and get that the idea is to hit the little ball down the hole. I am ready to go pro - what sort of clubs should I buy.
Just use your 550D until it breaks or until you find that it has some feature missing that you really NEED.
The first camera in Nikon's pro line is the D300s which retails for $1600 body only. So you'd have to spring for an advanced amateur level like the D90 or D7000. Look on a used site like KEH, sometimes you can find a great deal on a slightly used camera body.

Until then turning pro is a pipe dream.
