So I have been going back and forth about this - On a new healthy diet should I include avocados or should I leave them out?
I love them - I usually mush them up and dip broccoli in them or use them as a "condiment" on chicken (instead of mayo or miracle whip)
I've read they are good and I've read not to eat them... so which way should I fall?

Avocados are a great source of monounsaturated fats and one of my primary sources of fat as I don't tend to use oils when cooking. Some fat is essential in your diet and you should never ever attempt a fat free diet. Absolutely eat them just remember to include them in your daily caloric allowance because they do contain a lot of calories. Typically I'd eat no more than 1/2 an avocado a day and of course I don't eat them everyday but like you I used them in place of salad dressings that have no nutritional value.
They are very healthy- you may have heard that they are bad because they have fat in them. But it is the healthy fat. They're extremely healthy. They're high in folate and Vitamin K and each serving has a 2 grams of fiber which may not seem like much but it is actually a good amount to get from one food. I definitely wouldn't go overboard with it...Maybe only eat 3-4 times a week and remember when you do have just have a normal amount...like half cup mashed. But to answer your question it is definitely a YES.

You've read somewhere NOT to eat them? What kind of nonsense is that? Avocados are extremely healthy for you. The only reason I can think of for why people might say they are bad is that they do have a lot of calories compared to other fruits, so if you're trying to lose weight, don't eat like 5 big ones in one day or something.
Yay. My buddy took me to a cafe that serves yummy authentic sushi, no longer basically like the crappy ones from the save. they're so spectacular, my mouth is watering purely thinking approximately it :D
Why would anyone not want to eat them? They have protein and monounsaturated fats and probably a few other good things that we can google.
Yay! Avacados have fats but they're the healthy fats. Plus, they're delicious!
definitely keep eating them. Personally I hate their taste and texture, but they have HDL fat as opposed to LDL fat. HDL helps clean your blood of dangerous cholesterol.
