Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows a good drugstore makeup remover that takes off all your mascara? I've tried a bunch and It seems like I always have some left on. Thanks!
The Almay Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover Liquid is great! It takes off all of your eye makeup even if it's waterproof and doesn't irritate your eyes. It's around $5 in any drugstore or discount department store.
Soak a cotton ball or pad with it and hold it against the lashes for about 30 seconds to a minute so it can begin dissolving your mascara and liner. Then swipe gently across the lashes. Repeat until everything is removed.
If you find you still have some makeup caught between the lashes or under your eye, wet a q-tip (cotton bud) with the remover and remove any residue.
If you wear a lot of eye makeup and have trouble removing every last trace of it at the end of the day, read on for options to remove it if you don't have any eye-makeup remover. You might have what you need in the bathroom cabinet!
1. Until you can get to the department store and purchase some eye-makeup remover from the Clinique counter, there are some alternatives to getting the hard-to-remove, caked-on, daily make up from your eyes. Though Clinique is expensive, it's a highly effective liquid for removal of all traces of eye makeup, and I highly recommend it above all others on the market. If this isn't an option, there are other choices for removing make up.
2. So you don't have any special eye-makeup remover, and your face wash isn't getting rid of the smudges--don't fret. You can use baby oil on the end of Q Tips to gently take off all the dark, colored, or caked-on eye makeup. The greasy properties lift it off with ease and speed. If using cotton balls for this process, pull the cotton tight when you apply the oil and go from inner eye to outer eye. You don't want to get cotton fibres in your eye, so pinching the cotton tight will enable you to swiftly remove the eye makeup. Use Q Tips for more thorough removal.
3. Vaseline can also be used, though it's thicker than baby oil, it is still effective in removing traces of makeup. Coat your Q Tip with the Vaseline and carefully run it over your under-eye area and upper lid and follow up with a thorough face washing. Keep using Q Tips until all the makeup is gone.
4. If you wear a lot of eye makeup, one of the best resources I've found for complete removal are the moisturizing, eye-makeup remover pads by Andrea EyeQ. They condition the eye area, while gently removing makeup. It has natural extracts and soothes and conditions while it effectively removes all traces of eye makeup. These are very greasy, but highly effective in getting the job done! I would highly recommend using these for getting rid of all dark eye makeup quickly and efficiently. I've seen it sold at both drug stores and grocery stores.
5. Any way you choose to do it is fine; making sure you remove makeup daily will keep you free from infections, eye irritants, and/or other skin problems.
I usually use the Clinique make-up remover. It comes in a little purple bottle. It is more expensive but a little goes a LONG way. I have had the same bottle for about 3 years and I use it every day. I just dip a Q-tip in it and rub it over my eyes.
If you're looking for something in a drug store try the Cera Ve face moisturiser. I use this to remove eye make-up sometimes. It works great, too. It is very gentle on the face. I use it to moisturize every day.
I had this problem too until I switched to a DIY makeup remover on Pinterest. It uses baby shampoo, water and olive oil. It works better than any makeup remover I've ever used, is way cheaper and doesn't irritate my eyes. And I have sensitive skin too. A google search for "baby shampoo DIY makeup remover" should locate it for you. I'm on my phone or I'd find the link. Good luck!
Try a cleansing balm that are mostly solid. you melt a little in the palm of your hand and apply over the face and lids and wait a few seconds and remove with a hot muslim cloth, fantastic for even waterproof mascara

The best remover seems to be Bobbi Brown Instant Long Wear Remover.
Those Equate makeup remover wipes, they're so cheap but work AMAZING to take makeup off! Best ones I've tried (: They sell them at Walmart
