dont eat apples! ARGH I tired to against the dentists will and I broke my wire.. :P. lol I think yur teeth will hurt. You wont be able to sleep for two days and you will have dreams of teeth falling out..
Or nothing might happen at all. :)
If the brackets start to cut into your gums just put sum wax they should of given you on.. its disgusting but it does work.
If something falls out call the orthadontist immediatley..
Just eat soup and/or pasta for the first times.. Braces are fun. :DDDD
Well, i would say expect tylenol or motrin to be your best friend for the night or the following day. I found that when i got mine, i was really sore and ended up eating soft foods for a day. Actually, when you get them adjusted you may or may not be sore every time. Not the most painful experience, just odd feeling really. I still ate all the things they told me not to and came out of braces on time. However, don't eat things that can break the brackets off. I managed that a couple times. After that all i can can is brush your teeth well, or you will have funky breath from the food rotting in your wires and such. Don't worry, it's a piece of cake. Soon you will be rocking straight wonderful teeth.
Its not that scary! I remember when I got braces, I was terrified, but it was painless when they put 'em on. What they do is they "glue" the metal rectangles (brackets) on to your teeth and then insert a wire between the brackets. So easy! The pain sets in after you get home, so try to eat foods you don't need to chew for a couple of days. Try Ramen noodles; they saved my life! :-) Whatever you do, listen to what the orthodontist has to say! For example, even if one of your friends eats Starburst, DON'T. Your orthodontist tells you to stay away from certain foods for a reason. Plus if you knock out a bracket or break a wire, your braces will have to stay on LONGER. Keep up with brushing and flossing, because the braces don't magically give you perfect teeth. It's up to you! Good luck, and don't freak out.
Okay, I am not sure how I can help you on line. But, just try to stay calm when they put your braces on. I personally have never had braces. But a lot of my friends have. They all say that it hurts more to have them take them off and change the colors. Just having the dentist play with them. I can't help you much more than that. I am sorry.
ok like an hour b4 you go to get you braces take a pain killer and when they are on go straight to a place to eat and pig out when i got my braces they told me to do that because you won't eat much for a few days also if your braces are rubbing put dental wax where it is rubbing cut up your food in SMALL pieces for 2 weeks after you have braces and always have wax btw you will be swallowing a lot of food without chewing if you are like me avoid hard food for a week or 2 after you have your braces on also theysay you cant have carmel you can have the carmel that comes with apple dippers from mcdonalds
you should be fine. loads and loads of people have braces every year and every survives!!! i personally don't have braces but my sister got them and the only problem for her was that she found playing the flute quite hard (so she's given up until they come off) and that she can't eat some sticky sweets. mind you, she has it worse than some because there was something wrong with her mouth to start of with so she's had to have two operations on her mouth to fix it (the braces were just there to help) so just think yourself lucky - it goes to show that there are some rare extreme cases!!
Your teeth are definitely going to be hurting for a few days sorry. Be sure to eat soft foods like pudding, milk shakes etc. and just take it easy. When I got braces i couldn't bite down at all because they hurt so bad it really sucked, it might be the same for you or maybe better.
its so relaxing having them put on .. yeh it will ache about an hour after but while they are being put on its fine.
i think i even fell asleep while having it done.. but hey i have had soo much dental work done i know it all ... im skared,... in two weeks im haveing an implant put in which is a titanium post put into my gum and bone to then have a tooth put on the end.. :(
theyll hurt for like 1 to 2 and a half weeks it will be extremely hard to eat stuff at first but at least you wont have to ajust during school if you arnt getting them on all teeth and/or do not have rubber bands its waaaaaaaaay better

Theres really no help I can give you.
The first time you actually get them on, they don't hurt like everyone says they do.
But have your parents give you a pain killer just in case and be sure to eat before you get them on.
Your mouth will take a few days to get used to them and sometimes you need to put wax on the backs of your brackets from the imflamation.
Good Luck
its fine
