I recently measured my bra size with my mother, according to our measurements I wear a 36B and she wears a 36A. Which seems highly unlikely she has been wearing a 36B for a long time and her breast are about the same size as mine. I wanted to clarify: to get your bra size you measure right under your breast then subtract that from your measurement along your nipples. Right?
Also I was wondering my mother didn't say anything about but my nipples have not grow at all. I am 13, as I said before wear a 36B, haven't gotten my period, have had breast development for about 2 years and my areola has gotten larger but not so much darker. I have a little belly fat, but it is the way i am built(the same is true for my mother and other people in my family). Is it possible that I don't have any true breast devolpment and fat from eating is iin my breast area?

The way to measure bra size: to get the numerical portion measure right under your breasts (i.e. 34, 36, 38 and so on.) To figure out the cup size measure around the biggest part of your breasts. Say your numerical is 36 and around the biggest part of your breasts (where nipples are) is 38, you take 38-36=2 that would be a B cup. If the difference is 1" the cup is A, if it's 2" cup B, if it's 3" it's a C cup and so on. Your mom breasts could have gone down a size, due to weightloss for example.
No you have to add a couple if inches to the number under your breasts to get your band size. Why don't the two of you make a day of it and visit Victoria's secret or a JC Penny store and get professionally measured. Most people wear the wrong size bra and don't realize it. Also since you are young there is a good chance you breasts will still increase in size yet.
Here's how you measure for a bra size:
1. Measure around your chest, just below your breasts.
2. Add 5 inches if it is an odd number; add 4 inches if it is an even number. This is your bra measurement.
3. To find out what cup you need, measure around the fullest part of your breasts. If the two numbers are the same, you need an AA-cup. If the two numbers differ by 1 inch, you need an A-cup. If the two numbers differ by 2 inches, you need a B-cup. If the two numbers differ by 3 inches, you need a C-cup. If the two numbers differ by 4 inches, you need a D-cup.
Go to a bra department and try on the different styles to see what is comfortable for you.
since it seems you and your mother get along and are quite comfortable with each others anatomy, i suggest taking a mother daughter trip to victoria's secret or equivalent. there you can get a free fitting and find out your true sizes.
there is a possibility that your breast size is due to your weight/fat deposits/whateverisoktocallthem. growing up, i was in the same boat. but wearing a bra at 10, my period not starting til 12. go to coolnurse.com and you should be able to find more expert advice on all that.
You can begin developing long before you start your cycle. If you are a size B it is highly unlikely for it to be fat and not development.
If you want to get a true bra size you can go to any department store or bra store and they will measure for you, and you can try on different bras to see which fit better.
your weight does determine your breast size in some cases....you are too small for that, i think. victoria's secret will messure correctly and let you try on bras. but if you get mesured there, your bra size might go up a cup. i got measured and went from a C cup to a D cup, but i think that's because their bras are smaller. i am definitely not a D!
Don't stress about your development. I didn't "grow" until I was 21!!! You are still very young. For a proper bra measurement, go to a place like Victoria Secret or another place that has lingerie. They know how to measure. Good luck! :)
Bra sizes can differ by manufactures and styles. At 13, I think that you probably do have breast development.Don't worry about it.You will grow just fine.
some bras are sized differently..in Victoria Secret Bras I was wearing 36c then all the suddden they started to feel too small...theres no way on earth i am a 36d...it just got be be sized different!
well some fitters use a different scale, so you may have the same size or a slightly different one. Also, you may just develop breasts later.
