My mom and step dad both love playing video games on their xbox. I mean their favorite game is Halo and I am lucky because I get to play it all the time without them complaining, in fact if I ever wanted to stay home from school just to play a video game, I bet they would let me. But I hear parents complain about video games and the kids say there parents wont let them play certain games. Is this normal? Lol
Update:I don't think we are trashy either, I mean my step dad has a good high paying job so I don't think it has anything to do with that

Video games are a waste of time and money. They could be doing something more productive with their lives.
it's becoming more normal as gaming becomes mainstream. I guess that was an obvious statement...
I mean first person shooters have always been popular but with Call of Duty Modern Warfare and the other COD games since, everyone knows what call of duty is...
But I would say your parents are still pretty special. I'm not sure if it would be a good thing if they allowed you to stay home from school to play games, but if you are on top of your classes and responsible then I guess in that case it would be okay.
Depends on the age of the kids whether it's normal to restrict their game choices.
As for not allowing gaming, if the parents play all the time then it'd be a bit hypocritical for them to turn around and forbid their child from playing. But if the parents lead an active lifestyle they're likely to want that for their children too and thus they really limit their sit-in-front-of-a-screen-and-play-in-a-fantasy-world time.
Each parent focuses on different things. Some will let you do one thing but not another, and others will be just the opposite. As long as they love you, each other, and keep you fed, get you educated for your future, teach you to respect yourself and others, just about anything is OK. I personally would not have you miss school to play an Xbox game as I am not sure what educational value it has. And one thing it appears to be doing, is building family bonds. and that is very good.
I love playing video games with my son!
I play games with my kids, its a gr8 way of bonding!! :)
Wudnt let them take days off school for it tho
haha i guess they just understand why they're fun. but play in moderation, the idiot box isn't gonna help with anything in life, though is fine in moderation.
si si hai perfettamente ragione xD
