I am in my second month of Lupron for treating my endometriosis. It has been a miracle treatment for me - Complete relief of my pain very, very quickly with almost no side effects..... except for hot flashes.
The hot flashes come and go usually for a week at a time. I've been having them every day for a week or so again and tonight I don't know why but I took my temperature when I felt hot and it read 99.0. I know that's not a big deal but I tend to run low, anywhere between 97.5-98.6. Also, I am a "hypochondriac" or at least I get scared a lot of being sick.
Is it normal for a hot flash to raise you temp a little? Mine went back to normal already but I am still curious as of what to expect. I won't be stopping this Lupron anytime soon as I feel that I finally have a life back but the hot flashes... man they can be brutal!

That is absolutely normal.
Hot flashes can be really uncomfortable, but in the long range they're nothing to worry about.
Honestly, though, 99.0 is a healthy body temperature - it's actually better than 97.5
Running slightly on the high end of normal (99) is healthier than running on the low end of normal (97.5), but both are in the range of normal and nothing to worry about.
Some women's fluctuations in hot flashes are several degrees or more - when you regularly go over 101 that's when to talk to your doctor. If you ever go up to 104, go to the hospital immediately. But 99 is actually a desirable temperature.
To avoid swings in temperature, avoid alcohol, caffeine, preservatives, and so-called conventional dairy and meat. Choose lots of veggies, plenty of fruit, grassfed beef and lamb, organic and grassfed dairy, and wild caught fish.
Get plenty of rest, both extra sleep and just plain old down time. Also get plenty of exercise, especially gentle relaxing exercise like yoga, and also regular cardio and strength training.
A very important mineral to make sure you're getting is magnesium. Eat magnesium-rich foods like lots of leafy green veggies. Soak in epsom salts, rub with magnesium oil, or take magnesium citrate supplements. Some oral magnesium supplements can bring on mild diarrhea if you take too much at once; in fact they're often used to treat mild constipation. I love Natural Calm - it's a powder you dissolve in warm water and drink. It helps normalize sleep, relaxation, menstrual problems, perimenopause symptoms, and fixes constipation gently by the next morning.
Talk with your doctor before adding any supplements, but magnesium does not have any known negative interactions with Lupron. You may be surprised at how much better it makes you feel.
Raise Your Body Temperature
Yes.. I am right now and my cheeks feel so warm. It might just be related to the fact that I'm super excited for trying to conceive, however! Who knows ... Just try and see what happens (if you're trying to get pregnant, that is.)
