I'm looking at moving to another state (about 900 miles away). I have a piano and a 20 ft trampoline I'm not sure about moving. The piano was about $300 when I bought it (used) about 8 years ago. The trampoline I bought new in 2010 (about $200) and my neighbor (who since moved away) had to help me assemble the thing. The piano is an average upright kind. The trampoline is one of those giant round ones with the tall wall of netting around it. I'm thinking the cost of dismantling the trampoline and moving it would exceed the cost of simply buying a new one at my destination. I'm guessing the same might be true of the piano, though it would not require dismantling (but likely weights twice as much as the trampoline). Any advice on the costs of moving these items vs buying new ones?

It depends on the moving company you use. Typically, they recommend hiring a specialty mover for pianos, but considering that yours was relatively affordable and is already in fairly used condition, you may be able to have your regular movers take care of it for you.
I would suggest leaving the trampoline behind and replacing it in your new home. Those things get worn after several years, anyway, and it would probably be safer to buy a new one than risk dismantling and putting back together the one you have.
Good luck with your move!
Yes, usually. My friend was a before/after mover. His speciality was packing and unpacking things like pianos, trampolines other things. He would also unhook or hook up refrigerators and washers and things like that. The movers just move stuff.
It really depends on the company.my parents moved ten years ago and in the process the pegs that held our soffa got broken so we filed a complaint and they paid for it to get repaired....but like I said it really depends on the company I would contact them and ask them first
