Do pitt bulls ever bark?
I have a 12-week old pitt bull I have had her since she was 8-week and she never barks. Do they and if so does anyone have a suggestions. I also trying to train her to be alert when people come to the door. Please help first time pet owner.

I have a pit and she does not shut up and she was a saint as a puppy. Now she is a typical female and her trap is always open. LOL
They Definitely do! It is still young so maybe it will take more time to get used to its surroundings and feel more comfortable with being sort of loud. I don't have a pitt right now but some dogs just need to get more comfortable with there surroundings. Mine took almost a month before we heard her first bark when we got her. hope this helped at least a little. Good luck!
Most dogs don't bark until their at least 1 years old. Trust me they will bark, and it gets so annoying. The same thing happened with me, but when she got older, she began barking a lot. I hope you make this an best answers cause i need the points and i gave u all my information. Good Luck!

Yes, they bark, but puppies that young don't always.
When she does react to people coming to the door, praise her big time and give her a dog cookie. Keep that up & she'll catch on real quick. Also, when you hear something, react and say something to the dog, and get up & go see with the dog. That makes her a part of it & she'll get the idea. Dogs really really want to please. Best way to train is with praise and rewards.
Yes they bark, We used to have 2 and they barked alot. Your dog just might not have any reason to bark so you havent heard it yet. It will eventually.
We have a bulldog and they are in the same family. It took awhile for her to start barking but, she does. They are not known for barking.
my sister has had a few pitts and hers did bark. maybe yours will too once she knows that your house is now her territory and she will learn to protect it.
