Probably private(i live in Australia). I went to a government high school but i was only there for 6 months before i moved to a private school. At the government school the kids were disrespectful to the teachers, the facilities were horrible and i didn't learn anything at all, no homework even.
I'd Probably prefer public, I think the standard of teaching in public schools is just as good as private has to offer, its the pass rate and reputation that you have to really take into account
It really depends on where you live, my daughters school in Michigan was great but then we moved to Texas and the schools are terrible. If your child cannot learn, concentrate, or is having any other problems in school you should definatly try to switch him/her. I would over all probably suggest private.
