:) absolutely! it's such a soft, unique, and nice name. haha, i've only heard this name in Plain White Ts' video, "Hey there, Delilah," and i immediately fell in love with the name. the name makes me feel slightly nostalgic, too. perhaps i'll name my future child this ♥.
My favorite line from the song: "Time Square can't shine as bright as you."
Delilah is a pretty name. it is a good name for a dog or other pet. However, I would not name my child (if I was going to have one) Delilah at this time, because of the song "Hey There Delilah" by The Plain White T's being way overplayed of the radio. The song is okay, but I think I would get sick of the name Delilah.
I like Delia better...but if you named someone Delilah...or your name was Delilah...then you would already have a love song all about you. Also, Deliliah is more exotic than Delia. =) â¥
Yes, I think it's a beautiful name. Sorry though, I don't actually have a reason. Just has a nice flow to it, I guess. Did you hear the name "delilah" in that Plain White T's song? That song's flippin' everywhere. I love it!!!!
Well Dellilah dates back to the bible. Samson and Dellilah. Dellilah knew the strenth was in Samsons hair so she waited until he fell asleep and cut his hair. See Dellilah was paid by the enemy to get close to Samson. Well After his hair was cut he lost his strenth and died. I dont know about the name everytime I hear the name I think of the story.

I love the name Delilah. One of my favorites, actually.
I didn't think anyone knew of the story of Samson and Delilah as told in the Bible until I got to the answer proveded by NYC Girl.
No!
I wouldn't want a daughter of mine to bear the name of a slutty temptress no matter how pretty the name sounds.
You can read the story of Samson and Delilah in the Bible in the Book of Judges; chapters 13-16.
Delilah comes into the story in chapter 16.
If you are so inclined, you can also find the movie versions pretty interesting as well.

I'm partial to the original movie starring Victor Mature, Hedy Lamarr and Angela Lansbury(Murder She Wrote).
