no not really they insert what is called a speculum some are metal some are plastic just depends on the dr they insert it to spread your vagina open it is a little cold at first then they use a Q tip to get a sample or 2 then they pull the speculum out that's it although its uncomfortable just being there with everything down there on display just relax u will be fine
