Just about any birth control will help with acne, it may not get rid of it completely. However, a lot of the side effects I've researched are very bad. If you want to have children, read up on depo-provera. Many women, not all of course, have had a very difficult time conceiving after stopping the shot. Some took up to 4-5 years to conceive. I would recommend a birth control pill, patch or ring that doesn't alter your normal cycle. Any of those methods should help with acne as well. Best of luck!
Progesterone is a male hormone or sterioid. These usually make acne worse. But if you get acne from your periods anyway, it may be offset by the Depo because over time your periods will stop. You save a ton of money on products and you are virtually sterile. It worked wonders for me, and never seemed to cause me any acne problems. But it does kill your sex drive. But if you are a single female that is a win-win!
Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.
In my experience the Depo shot made my acne worse, but everyones body reacts differently to medications. It may clear up your acne. You should research the medication and learn more about its side effects or maybe talk with you Gyno/doctor about its pros and cons! Good luck

The shot clears up my acne and enhances my sex drive. It also makes me loose weight instead of gaining weight.
