My doctor said I have facial neuralgia. I had started to feel some tingling on my face and a burning sensation too and I have a red patch on my right cheek too which becomes even more red if I go out in the sun. Doctor said it is neuralgia - like when you 'catch a cold in the face'. He said it will take quite a long time for my red patch on my face to disappear. Anyone ever had this or heard about it?

Neuralgia is a term that means "Nerve Pain". It is a general term, like words ending in -itis, that means, "The Doctor is going to use a compound Latin word in order to sound like he knows what is wrong".
Neuralgias can be caused by injuries (do you cook or weld?), diabetes, herpes and other nerve dwelling viruses (rabies, chickenpox/shingles), and more. I and many other nurses have Neuralgia in our feet from standing way too long. No prognosis is possible until the cause is known.
Pain from Neuralgia can be reduced with Gabapentin; if it is too severe for Gabapentin, your doctor may select Lyrica.

Multiple Personality Disorder is actually Dissociative Identity Disorder, it is a coping mechanism and generally stems from severe abuse as a child, beat, sexually abused, the whole horrible spectrum of child abuse. The abuse is so severe that the child creates alternate personalities that the abuse is happening to so they don't feel as much of the pain, like it's happening to someone else so it's not as bad, kind of like watching a movie or hearing a story, it's bad, but it's no where as bad as if it were actually happening to them. In order to help someone with this they generally need to have medication and intense therapy where they will attempt to merge the personalities into one. The sufferer doesn't generally know what is happening, they are I would say in what amounts to a trance while the other "person" is taking over, they don't remember anything, and they will sometimes come to with things written and it's in someone elses handwriting, it's a sad, but fascinating disorder. Theres an old movie "Sybil" about a woman that has a ton of personalities, I've heard it's good, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet. Clinical Depression is where a person feels intense saddness, a cloud is over them and they can't get out of it. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder, where someone believes that they have to do something or something bad will happen. Wash their hands a certain amount of times to remove the germs, count things, turn the lights on and off a certain amount of times, if they don't act upon these compulsions/impulses they can suffer from severe panic attacks, and will obsess over whatever act they have not done. Thus the name Obsessive-Constantly have it on the mind Compulsive-always do it they "can't" Not do it Disorder, Howie Mendal (the host of deal or no deal) suffers from OCD. Anorexia Nervosa is when someone doesn't eat enough calories, they ut themselves on a starvation diet, they consume as few calories as humanly possible, it is also an anxiety disorder, it stems from everything in their life not being under their control, but they can control what they put in their body. They also have a warped since of what they look like, when they look in the mirror they don't see a skinny person they truly see an extremely fat person and they believe that being super ribs showing out skinny is beautiful. Conduct Disorder is where a child acts out of the "norm" generally violent. Paranoid Personality disorder is when a person believes "everyone is out to get them". Post Traumatic Stess Disorder is when someone goes through something horrible. They often will have night sweats, over react to something because, they believe whatever happened to them is happening again, this happens a lot with people coming back from wars. Selective Mutism is when someone is unable to speak in certain situations, the character Raj in The Big Bang Theory suffers from this, he is unable to speak when he is around women. Most sufferers of mental disorders generally suffer from anxiety issues.
