I have fibromyalgia. A month ago, I had a hysterectomy. Now, my liver is enlarged-- and my liver panel shows that my alkaline phosphatase is somewhat elevated. I have had a CAT scan and a sonogram. Both show an enlarged liver.... but I am hurting all over... not just the liver area. I see a gastroenterologist soon... and am terrified he will want to do a liver biopsy. I am not fond of a needle going into my liver. I was HEALTHY until the surgery-- a hysterectomy... now it hurts below both ribs, my rib cage hurts, my lower back muscles hurt... I am in a mess. If you were me... and you had a history of fibromyalgia... and this was following a surgery... what would you do? My fibromyalgia had gone into remission until the surgery. My liver was fine before the surgery. I just don't know what to do. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I dont really have an answer to your question. But a liver biopsy is not that bad. The only thing I can mention is that B5, pantothenic acid, helps the liver with energy and whatnot...just incase you might need for liver to be functioning better lol. Sorry to hear about your pain. Hope ya get better.
