Some parents are in denial that their "perfect" son/daughter might need glasses.
Maybe you can get the school nurse to send some kind of official-looking letter to your home stating something about finding vision problems during a routine test and strongly reccomending a full eye exam. (They don't actually have to do the test, just make up the letter, it might put some "fire at their tail" to set up an eye exam for you.
I understand, I might have done better in school if I had had a real eye exam when I was young. By age 20 I failed a military vision screening and finally got sent to a real eye doctor and have worn glasses ever since, enjoying corrected 20/20 vision. Leave your parents a written note if you can not do it face to face.
Flying Dragon has the right idea. If they won't listen to you then it might be your best option, or talk to a grandparent. They may be able to help you deal with your parents.
I find it distressing that I see this same question so often here, that parents aren't concerned about their childs eyesight, which can hurt your develoment if you can't see properly at school. Sometimes budgets are stressed, but the welfare of your child comes first over everything else. I'm sorry you have to seek our advice, but hopefully some of it can help you out.
well tell them how blurry your vision is. i have worn glasses for far away since third grade and i am in 12th now and i wear a 1.50 so just tell them how bad you need them. your parents may be different but mine took me. just ask them various times until they take you.
