How can I make my horse stay at a stable in Skyrim?
There is nothing I hate more, than when I am trying to complete a quest that is far away or is close to a dragon area, and either I have to walk the whole way, or I could fast travel to a closer spot, but it drags my horse with it. My problem is, I had to restart 4 times during a dragon fight between a Frost Dragon at Dragonbridge, because it would see my Frost, and kill the poor horse. So is there any way at all, to maybe say.... keep him at the Whiterun stables?? I don't want him to die.

Reasoning he is trying to stay away from danger and prevent getting killed so he trys to look for a safe place to stay,there is no command for it to stay,and just take the horse to a safe place like you said the whiterun stables.
Yes. I'm not sure exactly how to do it but if you fast travel in quick succession or leave the horse outside of a cave then wait inside the cave for a while he will most likely be teleported back to the stables.
I don't use horses in the game i just fast travel everywhere. Can you fasttravel to whiterun and have your horse wait there then fasttravel to where you need to go. If your save is in the middle of a draggon fight then reload a previous save then bring the horse to whiterun stable then fasttravel back to where you need to be.
i just let it die, i know it's unfortunate and a waste of money. if you get shadow mere (during dark brotherhood quest line) it's almost invincible. it has insane stats for a horse. don't jump of a ledge with him though, that's the most likely case for his death. so just do the dark brotherhood quest if you want a horse that could survive and ancient dragon attack.
as with horses if you have the pc version and have convent horses mod you can make invivivle and make the faster more stamina more health and even loot enemies while on it
and even give your foloowrs horses it will save your money but make sure you have god mode before you make the long jump or you'll dies your horse wont god mode is this (~ tgm)
Ride the horse to a safe distance and run back?
